In a press release sent to the editorial office, the Senegalese Professional Football League (LSFP) expresses its deep concern over the recent incidents which punctuated certain matches at the end of the championship season.

According to the press release published on May 6, 2024, the LSFP unequivocally condemns “ all forms of violence, whether verbal or physical, against all participants, in particular the refereeing body. Events during the 22nd day, notably during the meeting between ASC Les Jaraaf de Dakar and Teungueth FC at the Ngor Municipal Stadium, were particularly alarming, with stone throwing and other projectiles leading to a momentary stoppage Match. Similar situations were also observed during the match between Guédiawaye FC and Génération Foot, even going so far as to interrupt the game following the expulsion of a GFC player.. »

The LSFP highlighted that a technical preparation meeting took place the day before the match between Jaraaf and Teungueth FC, during which officials from the two clubs discussed organizational and security measures. Despite this, some supporters showed unacceptable behavior by throwing stones at both team buses outside the stadium. The press release specifies that the disciplinary committee of the LSFP “will review incidents noted by match officials“. In a call for serenity and responsibility, the LSFP urges all football stakeholders to preserve the image of the discipline and guarantee a peaceful end to the season.
