The Polish Iga Swiatek changes coach. The current world No. 1 at the WTA announced on Friday that she had separated from her coach Tomasz Wiktorowski.

‘After three years of greatest success in my career, we decided with coach Tomasz Wiktorowski to end our collaboration,’ the tennis player wrote in a post on Instagram.

Swiatek withdrew two weeks ago from the Beijing tournament where she was the title holder, citing ‘personal reasons’.

‘I want to start with the thanks which are, for me, the most important today,’ she said in her message. His experience, his analytical and strategic attitude and his enormous knowledge of tennis have helped us achieve things that I would never have dreamed of just a few months after we started working together.’

‘Given this important change for me, I am giving myself the next few weeks to begin a collaboration with a new coach,’ she wrote, indicating that discussions were being held ‘with foreign coaches’.

“I will signal when I make the decision,” said Iga Swiatek, who has held first place in the world rankings since November 2023.

The 23-year-old has won five Grand Slam singles titles, including four at the French Open.
