Nightmare for Lane Hutson: his face completely messed up

The release of NHL 25 caused a wave of negative reactions on social media, and one particular criticism surfaced: Lane Hutson’s face.

Is this a joke? In the game, Hutson sports a face that appears to belong to a 40-year veteran, which has generated mockery, jeers – and sometimes outrage – from fans and players.

The comments are not lacking in humor on social networks.

“This guy went to World War II”

“It’s not Lane…It’s Hane Ludson.”

The criticism of player appearances in NHL 25 doesn’t stop there. Some fans deplore that many recruits are represented as thirty or forty-year-olds.

The recurring question about the lack of realistic facial scans of players resurfaces.

“It’s crazy that they don’t do facial scanning for the majority of players. They should do it for every team during training camp.”

This disconnect between reality and virtual representation will only amplify the criticisms already present on the game, particularly with regard to the precision of details.

This blunder on Lane Hutson and other players could well fuel the frustration of part of the video gaming community, especially since these mistakes could be easily avoided with facial scans during training camps.

It looks like the creators of the NHL game are sitting on their laurels. Since they know that fans are going to buy the game anyway, they make absolutely no effort to improve it.

While certain aspects of the game seem to have evolved, such as skating mechanics or artificial intelligence, there is clearly a lack of effort or investment year after year.

And Lane Hutson is far from the only one whose face was completely botched. Let’s just say that Macklin Celebrini was also cheated.

Ouch.
