Rugby sevens and athletics at the Stade de France, but also beach volleyball on the Champ de Mars. This is the program that awaits nine residents of the Pierre-Péricard nursing homes, in Civaux, and Saint-Thibault, in Fleuré, in Vienna. Those who will attend one of these events of the Olympic Games at the end of July in Paris. A project which requires a lot of organization and above all allows all residents to come together, even those who are not leaving, around a unifying subject: sport.

“On site, it’s much better!”

In less than three months, Simone should be in the stands encouraging the athletes in one of the three events booked by her nursing home a year ago. Her preference: “I would like to go watch athletics. It’s good and you have to run fast.” For Alain and Didier, it will be rather “rugby !” On a daily basis, they already follow sport on television and talk about it, but this time, it will be in real life.

And if Alain finds that we “see better on TV”, Simone is eager to enjoy the atmosphere. “We are better when we are there, it’s much better! The atmosphere is not the same”, she exclaims.
