Liverpool stumbles on West Ham and moves away from the title

Liverpool were hooked and forced to draw (2-2) on Saturday away to West Ham, thus considerably reducing their chances of winning the English title. The Reds still have to play 0 matches.

With two draws and two defeats in the last five league matches, Jürgen Klopp’s men have 75 points, behind Arsenal (1st, 77 pts) and Manchester City (2nd, 76 pts) who respectively have one and two more matches to argue.

In addition, the calendar does not encourage optimism for Liverpool supporters, with final meetings against Tottenham, Aston Villa and Wolverhampton.

In the first half, Jarrod Bowen gave West Ham the advantage with a crossed header (43rd, 1-0), scoring his 16th goal of the season in the Premier League, the 20th in all competitions. The Reds managed to equalize just after half-time on a slow strike from Andy Robertson placed out of Areola’s reach (48th, 1-1). On their momentum, they managed to take the advantage after a mix-up in the 65th minute (1-2).

The “Hammers”, however, managed to respond via Bowen, who delivered a perfect cross for the head of Michail Antonio, left too alone in the area (77th, 2-2).
