The 34-year-old high-alpine rider, a member of Groupama-FDJ, is back with the national team four years after his last call-up. On September 27, 2020, he participated as a teammate in Julian Alaphilippe’s first world title, in Imola (Italy). Rudy Molard finished in 19th position, 1’34” behind the winner.

Kevin Vauquelin not selected

This year again, the one who has been involved in the Tour of Luxembourg since Wednesday should still work for Julian Alaphilippe. On the very hilly Zurich circuit (274 km and 4000 meters of elevation gain), the double world champion should be the best card for Thomas Voeckler. The Olympic vice-champion Valentin Madouas, the future retiree Romain Bardet or even David Gaudu, Romain Grégoire or Pavel Sivakov could be other cards.

French champion Bruno Armirail and Thibault Guernalec will compete in the individual timed event this Sunday, September 22 (Kevin Vauquelin is not selected) and will be teamed up with Olympic champion Benjamin Thomas for the mixed team relay.
