Al-Nassr parts ways with coach

Since Cristiano Ronaldo arrived in Saudi Arabia in the winter of 2023, Al-Nassr has failed to win titles. Despite several finals and interesting championships, the Riyadh club is still struggling and CR7 seems cursed. While he had known Rudi Garcia when he arrived, the Portuguese legend had been coached by Luis Castro for almost a year. However, with the Portuguese coach, the Saudi team still failed to prove itself superior to Al-Hilal, its sworn enemy.

This Tuesday, Al-Nassr decided to take a drastic measure by thanking the former Botafogo coach after a complicated start to the season (2 wins, 3 draws and a defeat in the Saudi Super Cup final). In its press release, the club thanked its former coach after a fatal draw against Al-Shorta (1-1) in the Asian Champions League: “Al-Nassr Club has officially decided to terminate the contractual relationship with the first team coach, Mr. Luis Castro. We appreciate all the efforts he has made with Al-Nassr and wish him success in the future.» It remains to be seen who will be Cristiano Ronaldo’s future coach in Saudi Arabia.
