” New era. » In a press release published Wednesday March 27 on X (formerly Twitter), the official account of the French championship reveals its new logo from the 2024-2025 season. The current one, which appeared in particular on the score display offered on television broadcast, was a reference to the Hexagoal, the trophy which rewards the champion. This one is more sober, and combines the “L” of “League” and the number 1.

A new logo that looks like a Russian propaganda channel

Some Internet users were quick to point out the resemblance of this new logo to the Russian state channel Russia One. This is owned by the federal government. The one also called “Pervy Kanal” notably broadcast a few days ago the interrogation of suspects in the attack on the concert hall, perpetrated by the Islamic State, which left at least 133 dead in Moscow. It is considered a key propaganda instrument for Vladimir Putin.

“Since the invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Channel One Russia has increased dishonest reporting, hate comments and justification of the war in Ukraine,” considered Arnaud Froger, head of the investigation office of the Reporters Without Borders (RSF) association in an article published on March 5.
