Banned from a race for reaching the 12 penalty points maximum allocated on his “permit”, Kevin Magnussen will be replaced in Baku by Oliver Bearman.

Without any real surprise, the Haas F1 Team decided to promote its third pilotand future holder in 2025, Bearman in the second seat alongside Nico Hülkenberg in view of the next round of the 2024 F1 season in Azerbaijan.
For the young Briton, recent winner of his second F2 race of the year with Prema, it will be the second appearance in Formula 1several months after a sensational debut at the wheel of the Ferrari SF-24 on the fast and narrow circuit of Jeddahin Saudi Arabia, surrounded by the seventh place in the race.
“It’s definitely a bigger challenge than going into a race as a reserve driver, with limited preparation time etc, but I’m lucky enough to have done it earlier in the year with Scuderia Ferrari so I can at least draw on that experience,” Bearman says.
