As revealed by L’Équipe, John Textor should sell the Meyzieu Academy to Michelle Kang, the boss of OL women.
This is big information that has just been revealed by L’Équipe: John Textor, the owner of OL, is reportedly on the verge of selling the lease and premises of the Academy, located in Meyzieu, to Michelle Kang , the current owner and CEO of the women’s section of Olympique Lyonnais. This sale would allow the latter to build its stadium there, and the Rhone club to receive 20 million euros. A fairly large sum, especially considering the delicate financial situation of the club.
The Meyzieu complex quite criticized
According to sources close to management, this decision reflects Eagle’s desire to refocus activities around the stadium. In addition, the sports daily adds that new buildings could be built in Décines in conjunction with elected officials, near the Groupama Stadium, in order to bring together the entire sports sector in the same place.
Quite far from the Décines stadium, the Meyzieu complex, inaugurated in 2016, is singled out. The club wants young people to be able to be in contact with the pros in order to “see the models they dream of becoming on a daily basis”, as explained by OL.
