OL must reduce its workforce, Pierre Sage wants to “do it intelligently”

However, following the DNCG's decision, coach Pierre Sage knew that several departures would be inevitable: “It was already normal given the depth of the squad we had. We have 24 outfield players and four goalkeepers, so it was necessary to reduce the squad. It doesn't really change the plan,” he explained at a press conference this Thursday.

Cleaning to be done intelligently

With the obligation to part with several players, the club will have to make wise choices to build a competitive group and compete with the competition. Especially since OL was also sanctioned by a control of its payroll and a ban on recruitment. Pierre Sage is aware of the issues: “The idea is to do it in good intelligence, while keeping the balance of the positions we have, because certain sectors are overloaded and others limited. We must respond sportingly to that idea.”
