Maïté Mendiburu leaves the Girondins de

Started in goal for the Girondins de women's team at just 15 years old (becoming one of the four youngest goalkeepers in the first division, since she was 15 years and 317 days old), in D1 Arkema, Maïté Mendiburu announced that he was leaving the Scapular Club on Sunday evening. We do not yet know its future destination.

“Goodbyes can be difficult, but let’s remember the smiles, the laughter and the moments shared together!

It was a short experience but full of emotions and learning. This year has been exceptional in my eyes.

It was my first year on a women's team and my first professional appearances.
I would like to thank the club, the players as well as the various staff I was able to work with.
They passed on their knowledge to me, helped me progress, and gave me a chance!

I also want to thank the supporters for being there throughout the year and supporting us!

The time spent together may have been short, but unforgettable memories are engraved in me.”

Born in , having started football at the age of 8 at Hasparren FC, she then joined the Mérignac women's hope center before arriving at the Girondins de Bordeaux in 2023.
