Paris Saint-Germain has registered with UEFA its financial dispute of 55.4 million euros with Kylian Mbappé. The capital club continues to play for time and strives to stay within European regulations.
After having already played several cards (FFF, LFP…), Paris Saint-Germain defeats that of UEFA in the affair between it and Kylian Mbappé. The capital club declared its dispute with its former player to the European body, revealed L'Equipe on Monday evening.
The 55.4 million euros in unpaid salaries and other bonuses claimed by the Real Madrid striker were registered with UEFA, in order to comply with the regulations of the body. This stipulates that clubs participating in European Cups must not have debts to their employees.
Article 82.01 of the section “on club licensing and financial viability” requires that “on July 15, October 15 and January 15 of the licensing season, the licensee must not have any arrears of payment (…) to its staff (…) resulting from contractual or legal obligations due no later than June 30, September 30 and December 31, respectively”.
Two decisions already favorable to Mbappé
“The beneficiary of the license must prepare and submit, within the time and in the form communicated by UEFA, a declaration confirming the total debts owed to staff, as well as the absence or existence of arrears of payment” , continues the regulation.
-With this new maneuver, PSG has therefore put itself in order. He continues his legal path and his lying poker game against his ex-scorer. Two decisions favorable to the player had already been pronounced: the first, on September 11, 2024, from the legal commission of the LFP, confirmed by the joint appeals commission of the League, on October 25, 2024. Both consider that the sums are owed by the club to the player.
Kylian Mbappé is demanding from PSG a signing bonus (36.6 million euros), salaries (5,750,000 euros per month corresponding to the months of April, May and June 2024) and ethics bonuses (500,000 euros per months over the same period), for a total of 55.4 million euros. Amounts not paid by the Parisian club, furious at his departure to Real last summer.
