Girondins de Bordeaux. He spoke about his return to the club when it fell to Ligue 2 at the end of the 2021/2022 season.
« I was in negotiations to extend with Queens Park, I told them that I was going to think about their offer, that I was going to see if I had offers elsewhere, etc. I don't close the door on them because I'm really happy here, and we see what happens. In the meantime, I was in close contact with a club in Germany, which was in the first division, Arminia Bielefeld. I tell my agent that the Bundesliga is so good, that it interests me. So we had to wait since they were playing to maintain. In the end they make barriers to avoid going down, and they go down so suddenly it falls through. I have another club arriving, Bochum, and at the same time they call me and tell me that Bordeaux has just gone down to Ligue 2 and that they are interested. It's been two years that every summer I said to my agent 'Send a message to Bordeaux to see if there is a possibility. I would love to be able to come back as a professional this time.' Each time there was interest but it didn't happen. Then I had this interest and thought about it. Do I want to return to Ligue 2? No. I can stay in the Championship, I've been in London for 7 years, everything is going well. So we think, we think and in the end, time passes. I'm talking with Admar Lopes, with David Guion. I told my wife, 'Honestly, I can't say no. This might be the only opportunity in my life to go to the club and I know that if I don't go now, if I never go, I'm going to regret it. Even if we have to make a little financial effort. She said to me 'I follow you, it's your career'. In the end I found myself signing for the club. »
