“Absolute leader”, “recital”… The Spanish press is melting for Mbappé!

This Sunday, Real Madrid was strong to react at home against Las Palmas by winning (4-1) despite the opponent's opening score. A match notably marked by the very successful performance of Kylian Mbappé. Already very good against Barça, despite the overall slump, and in the Copa del Rey against Celta Vigo, Mbappé did it again yesterday by carrying his troops with a converted penalty, a magnificent top corner for the double and an influence on almost all hot situations Madrilenians.

As a result, the Spanish press, which was already rocking last week, definitely fell under the spell. “El lider es Mbappé” (the leader is Mbappé) is displayed both on the front page of Marca and AS this Monday morning. Marca also notes the “recital of the French crack” while AS underlines more soberly that Kylian Mbappé “scores two goals and participates in two others during Real’s victory”.

Even the Catalan press highlights Mbappé's leadership

As for the Catalan press, we are obviously more measured on the front pages, since Mundo Deportivo, without specifically mentioning Mbappé, is content to point out that Real Madrid are now “leader with seven points ahead of the Blaugrana”. Sport, for its part, does not even mention the Madrid result in its newspaper. But on his website, however, Mbappé is entitled to praise. “Mbappé proclaims himself absolute leader of Real Madrid,” underlines the media usually much more interested in Barça’s performances.
