Ligue 1 – D17: Contrasted results for OL and OGC Nice, LOSC is no longer fourth

Neutralized by AJ (0-0) this Friday, LOSC gave the competition the opportunity to style its men. The latter move back one step in the ranking.

The year 2025 is starting in a frustrating way for Bruno Genesio’s men, authors of two poor performances during their first two outings: first at home, against FC (1-1), then this Friday at Auxerre (0- 0). Twice, in the event of good results, LOSC had the opportunity to climb onto the podium and finally found itself, in recent hours, at the mercy of its competitors: Olympique Lyonnais and OGC .

Following the consecutive failures of AS Monaco, held back by FC Nantes (2-2), and LOSC, neutralized by AJ Auxerre (0-0), Olympique Lyonnais had the possibility of climbing onto the podium to the first time of the season if successful. Les Gones, however, like Les Dogues, had a mixed game. took advantage of ’s apathy to open the score from the start with Mahdi Camara (8′), then doubled the lead with Ludovic Ajorque (25′). However, they ended up giving in before the break (45+2′) on a goal from Malick Fofana. The second period was closely fought, with neither team managing to make a difference. OL thus lost (2-1).

A few hours later, OGC Nice engaged in a spectacular match with Stade de , which its men managed to defeat (2-4) despite the cold in Champagne. Franck Haise’s team started the match with very good intentions, a desire translated by Evann Guessand who opened the scoring (28′). Ito equalized (34′), but the Aiglons took the lead again from the penalty spot before the break (44′). Scorer, Laborde scored twice on the hour mark (64′), then increased his advantage a few minutes from time (86′) with Abdi. In the meantime, Diakkon had reduced the gap (71′) for a result rich in goals (2-4). This is the third victory in four games for the Riviera club which, taking advantage of the Lyon defeat and the draw, climbs to fourth place in the standings, just one point behind Monaco.

The outcome? Now ahead of OGC Nice, LOSC has fallen one position in the standings and finds itself in fifth place with 29 points gleaned at mid-season. However, the sentence, after two consecutive draws, could have been much worse. AS Monaco, third, is only two points behind, while OL, sixth, remains one point behind. Only Olympique de really made a comeback. Everything still remains to be done, especially since the Mastiffs can take on the Aiglons next weekend.
