This Saturday for the 17th day, OL were beaten in Brest (2-1) and failed to reach the podium.
A success to get back on track. Stade Brestois won at home this Saturday afternoon, against Olympique Lyonnais (2-1), as part of the 17e day of Ligue 1, at the end of a fairly open and long undecided match. The Bretons entered the match perfectly, exerting high and intense pressure and quickly projecting themselves forward. And on their first (real) foray into the Lyon camp, the Ty Zefs opened the scoring, thanks to Mahdi Camara, who took Ludovic Ajorque’s strike repelled by Lucas Perri (8e). Éric Roy’s men continued to push. And what was supposed to happen, happened. On an admirably played rapid transition, Kamory Doumbia cleverly found Mahdi Camara, who had gone deep. The Brest midfielder then backheeled…for Ludovic Ajorque who finished the job with an outside left foot (25e). At the end of the first half, the Gones (finally) began to gain momentum, especially when Rayan Cherki – starting on the right side – realigned a little. They finally managed to reduce the score on a cross from Malick Fofana well cut by Jordan Veretout in added time (45e+2).

After the break, the Rhone residents continued at the same pace. They had a few situations but Alexandre Lacazette lacked realism (68e). The Brestois had a big highlight, marked among other things by a post found by Kamory Doumbia…on a corner taken directly (73e). The end of the match was quite balanced. And despite all the changes made by Pierre Sage, Olympique Lyonnais did not find the resources to equalize…and therefore lost. With this significant success, Stade Brestois (provisionally?) goes back to 10e place in the ranking and comes within six points of his opponent of the day. Les Gones, for their part, missed a great opportunity to have an excellent operation after the poor performances of AS Monaco and LOSC on Friday evening.
