Saudi Arabia is reportedly showing increasing pressure to recruit Chancel Mbemba (OM) this winter.
This is a certainty linked to the transfer window. Chancel Mbemba, who has been in open war with Olympique de Marseille since last summer and more than ever pushed towards the exit by his own leaders, will leave the Marseille club this winter. Or even next summer. It now remains to be seen, and this is one of the challenges of the current transfer window, where the Congolese central defender will bounce back.
Mbemba to Saudi Arabia?
We know that Mbemba has been courted by several Ligue 1 clubs in recent weeks. There was the Nantes Football Club, Stade Rennais and even Montpellier which, due to lack of sufficient financial resources and due to the player’s salary in Marseille, quickly forgot this option. The former Anderlecht, Newcastle and FC Porto player would nevertheless have rejected the advances of all the clubs in the French championship. Exit, therefore, Ligue 1 for Chancel Mbemba. And his two full seasons in Marseille with nearly 70 matches played and nine goals scored. But a destination currently seems to be becoming clearer for the 30-year-old Congolese footballer: Saudi Arabia.
Indeed, and according to the X La Minute OM account, two clubs in the Saudi Pro League, including Al-Fateh, would be interested in relaunching Mbemba. And allow him to finally play a few minutes at club level this season, Roberto De Zerbi, the Marseille coach, having never called him up.
-OM awaits compensation
As a reminder, and this is important data, the management of Olympique de Marseille is reportedly waiting for an offer of 3 million euros to let the Congolese international leave France. And if it were to be this winter, there is no doubt that the Saudi clubs, with their financial strength, would have the means to go on the offensive. To be continued, therefore.
