held in check in Nantes, Hütter is “not satisfied with the result” of Monaco

Led 2-0 by the at La Beaujoire, the Monegasques managed to equalize (2-2) but saw their place on the podium threatened.

Although his team came back from 0-2 to 2-2 in Nantes on Friday, Monaco coach Adi Hütter was not “not satisfied with the result” and in particular the too sluggish first period of his team. “I am not satisfied with the result. We have respect for Nantes but we wanted to win the match tonight”lamented the coach after the match.

With this point, Monaco’s place (3rd) on the podium is threatened by (4th) and (5th), at three points and with a goal difference quite close to that of ASM. Even though he praised the “psychological start” of his team after the Canaries’ second goal at the very start of the second half, “you have to watch the 90 minutes”he stressed.

“We played too slowly in the first half, we lacked sharpness, we lost our style of play a little”he regretted. “The second half was much better, we were more aggressive and we also scored two nice goals, but (…) it was too little for us”he still estimated. In any case, he refused to take shelter behind the numerous absences in the offensive sector which undoubtedly partly explain his team’s difficulties in putting Nantes in real danger.

“Today, putting together the right starting eleven was not easy (…) but there is no point in complaining because we are Monaco and we are expected to win this match against Nantes”he estimated. “I compliment them on the way they fought to win this point today.”he added sportingly.
