The AS Saint-Étienne reserve, reinforced by two professional players, obtained an excellent draw against Bourg-Péronnas, resident of National 1. Summary of the ASSE-BOURG meeting.
It was an excellent result that the AS Saint-Étienne reservists obtained against Bourg-Péronnas, resident of National 1. Razik Nedder's team was reinforced by two professional players, Yunis Abdelhamid and Ibrahim Sissoko. The Saint-Etienne striker, suspended for five matches (+2 suspended), did not score during this friendly match against the National players. The match ended in a 0-0 draw, a result that Razik Nedder was completely satisfied with.
The AS Saint-Étienne reserve is now preparing to return to the championship, with a match against Hauts Lyonnais next Sunday at 3 p.m., at the Robert-Herbin Sports Center.
Razik Nedder (ASSE coach): “0-0 against the National de Bourg-Péronnas. It was our third match against a National team since the start of the season. They are always very interesting oppositions. We had a good first half, with the ability to maintain possession and control the game. However, we lacked the efficiency to realize our two or three chances. It is precisely in this area that we must take a step forward: in this type of match, you have to know how to be killer on the rare opportunities that you obtain in a half.
The second half was more balanced, and we conceded a few situations. This allowed us to give playing time to everyone, particularly professional players who were suspended, as well as young players born in 2007 and 2008, who came to discover a different level of demands.
We will have to repeat this type of performance next week to get the second half of the season off to a good start.”
