After having decided to keep Antoine Kombouaré in post, FC Nantes will seek to strengthen its squad. This will depend above all on the departures of certain players considered undesirable. An agreement would also have been reached during the night from Friday to Saturday for the loan of this attacker.
Ignatius Ganago, the Cameroonian striker of FC Nantes, is preparing to take on a new challenge in his career. After two and a half seasons spent in the colors of the Canaries, the 24-year-old player will fly to the United States to join the New England Revolution franchise, playing in Major League Soccer (MLS). A final agreement has been reached between the two clubs for a one-year loan accompanied by a quasi-compulsory purchase option estimated at 3.5 million euros.
A journey strewn with pitfalls in Nantes
Arrived at FC Nantes in 2022 after experiences at OGC Nice and RC Lens, Ignatius Ganago failed to establish himself as an indisputable starter. Despite his promising talent, the Douala native was hampered by injuriesnotably a ruptured cruciate knee ligament which kept him away from the field for a large part of last season. In total, the Cameroon international only played 55 matches in all competitions in two and a half years in the Nantes jersey.
A new start in MLS
Faced with these difficulties, Ignatius Ganago decided to take on a new challenge by joining the American Major League Soccer. After intense negotiations in recent days, FC Nantes and New England Revolution have found common ground for his transfer. The former Lensois will fly to Boston at the start of next week to undergo his medical examination and finalize his arrival. This new adventure represents an opportunity to bounce back for the young Cameroonian striker, who will have the opportunity to discover a new championship and a new environment.
A bet on the future
Although his time in Nantes was hampered by physical problems, Ignatius Ganago remains a promising player which still has significant room for improvement. His transfer to MLS offers him the chance to relaunch himself and confirm his potential in a different context. New England Revolution relies on its qualities and hopes that he will be able to fully flourish within their squad. If everything goes normally, the Cameroonian international will sign up with this American franchise, marking the start of a new chapter in his young career.
