Barely open, the French football transfer market is already experiencing a sensation. Stade Rennais is the author, it has just officially repatriated midfielder Seko Fofana, former captain of RC Lens, to Ligue 1. General manager, sports director and player of the Breton club gave their first impressions. Eager to return to European football, Seko Fofana was seduced by the Rennes challenge offered by the Argentine coach, Jorge Sampaoli.
The operation is estimated at 20 million euros, for the benefit of the Al-Nassr club in Saudi Arabia. Also for the benefit, as part of the FIFA solidarity mechanism, of the training which trained the 29-year-old player, born in Paris but an Ivorian international and reigning African Nations champion. This concerns three French clubs in particular.
Paris FC, Lorient and Bastia will benefit from the transfer
First Paris FC that Seko Fofana attended in his younger years. At twelve years old (the minimum age to enter the FIFA distribution grid) and until the age of 15. Then, he evolved within the walls of the FC Lorient training center. And later, he played a season with SC Bastia, then on loan from the Manchester City club.
Of the total transfer compensation, FC Lorient will receive the largest share, at 300,000 euros, out of the amount of 20 million euros. Paris FC will have 200,000 euros and half going to the Corsican club.
