Associated with a return to ASSE for this winter, is Arnaud Nordin really a player that Kilmer Sports should go for? This is the debate of our journalists, William Tertrin and Laurent Hess.
“It would be a reinforcement”
“It’s true that Nordin left ASSE free, on a descent, but can we really hold that against him? I don't think so. The player had given everything, he had quite a good last season with the Greens and I can understand why he left given what awaited him in Forez, the management of the club, etc…
The fact is that, two and a half years after his departure, Nordin finds himself in a somewhat similar situation in Montpellier. His contract ends in June and he does not intend to stay forever in Hérault, which could encourage the MHSC to transfer him in January. So, a Nordin at a lower cost, even if it's not very logical to buy a player who we trained and who left without compensation, it seems to me that it would be a good opportunity. At 26, we know what he could bring and he has the advantage of knowing the house well. ASSE needs reinforcements and given what the Forézien club has in store today, at the winger position, Nordin would be a reinforcement, with his speed, his combativeness. I think the team would be better with him, quite simply, and when I see the other names circulating for his position, Casimir (Le Havre) and company, he seems to me to offer a little more guarantees. »

“ASSE should not ask itself the slightest question”
“For me, it is obvious that ASSE must not ask itself the slightest question, and rush towards Nordin. He is at the end of his contract with the MHSC, and knows the green house, where he was trained, very well. It would thus bring competition in a sector of play where Davitashvili alternates between the good and the less good. Not to mention the injuries to Old and Boakye, and the future of Cafaro, which is quite uncertain.
Even if we cannot say that he is enjoying this first part of the season (4 goals in 15 games), I am convinced that Nordin would do a lot of good for this Saint-Etienne squad. It remains to be seen at what price he will be released by the MHSC, he who is valued at 8 million euros by Transfermarkt. The red lantern in the championship needs money, and would not be against saving the 90,000 euros per month that Nordin receives. Figures which will undoubtedly not scare Kilmer Sports, which did not hesitate to put its hand in its pocket last summer, but without the expected results.
