The Transfermarkt site drew up a ranking this Friday of the 50 most expensive players at the end of 2024. If seven French people appear there, Kylian Mbappé is now ahead of Barcelona's Lamine Yamal and his Real Madrid teammate Jude Bellingham.
Who is the most expensive football player in these last days of 2024? A few days before the winter transfer window, the specialized site Transfer market has published its ranking of the 50 players who currently have the highest market value. Bradley Barcola and Olise open this ranking (65 million euros) and are joined by five other French people, also present in this ranking of the most highly valued players in the world.
Marcus Thuram, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurélien Tchouaméni and William Saliba stand in a few places. France, with seven players, is the most represented nation, tied with England. On the club side, without much surprise, Real Madrid is in the lead, with seven representatives: Tchouaméni, Camavinga, Rodrygo, Valverde, Mbappé, Bellingham and Vinicius. The last winner of the Champions League is ahead of Arsenal (6), Barcelona (5) and Liverpool (5).
Vinicius and Haaland first, Mbappé downgraded
In difficulty with Manchester City, which is going through a deep crisis, Erling Haaland remains at the top of this ranking. Estimated at 200 million euros, the very prolific Norwegian goalscorer shares first place with Vinicius, who recently won The Best Player of the Year and the Globe Soccer Awards.
Who to complete the podium? If Kylian Mbappé was a solid third last October, the Madrid striker was downgraded. Now valued at 160 million euros, the native of Bondy saw Barça prodigy Lamine Yamal and his teammate Jude Bellingham (180 million euros) pass him by.
