Long considered an executive in the PSG squad with his exemplary behavior, Danilo Pereira was pushed out last summer given that he did not fit into Luis Enrique's plans at all. The Portuguese defensive midfielder goes behind the scenes of his transfer to Saudi Arabia, and seems to have had a bad time against the management of PSG.
The appointment of Luis Enrique on the bench PSG last year changed a lot of things for Danilo Pereira. The Portuguese international saw his playing time dwindle before finally being pushed out by the Parisian leaders during the last market summer, and Danilo therefore left PSG to sign for Al-Ittihadin Saudi Arabia.
“PSG asked for a lot of money”
Recently interviewed in the columns of Parisian, Danilo Pereira let go of his ordeal of the last few months spent in PSG : « I had other opportunities. But they were not possible because Paris refused many offers. There were exchanges with FC Porto, Atlético de Madrid. I had touches in Italy, in Germany. But these transfers were blocked for financial reasons. The club asked for a lot of money. Finally, I received this proposal from Al-Ittihad and I believe it was the right choice. Things had to happen like this. I'm happy to be here and the journey I still have to go. It's a competitive club which still offers me the opportunity to perform well », Indicates the Portuguese defensive midfielder.
“It hurt me”
« As soon as the 2023-2024 season ended, I had the feeling that something strange was happening… Luis Campos then came to see me to tell me that I was no longer part of the plans. It was the choice of the coach, with whom I did not discuss. I didn't want to continue at a club where they didn't count on me. When they told me: you don't count, you have to look for another club, it was OK. This is a situation that exists in all clubs. On the other hand, it was hard while we negotiated with other teams. The problem was there. They didn't make my departure easy at all. That's what hurt me, because I really have affection for Paris. I wanted to continue my career there », continues Danilo on the end of his very complicated story with the PSG.
