After retiring last July, Thiago Alcantara joined his former coach at Bayern Munich during Barça's summer tour of the United States. Their collaboration, marked by a month of training at Ciudad Deportiva, left a strong impression, pushing Barça to consider the return of the 33-year-old former midfielder to Catalonia.
Alcantara returning to Barça in January?
According to the Madrid daily Marca, a final decision is expected in this matter for the month of January 2025. In the meantime, it is Arnau Blanco who ensures the link between Flick and the Blaugrana players but the possible arrival of Thiago Alcantara would not change questioned his job within the Barça first team.
