Having stayed five seasons at OM before leaving for Bayern Munich in 2020, Bouna Sarr would not say no to a return to Marseille. The Senegalese, who has not played for a year, is actively looking for a new club.
He has not played since a Bundesliga match in November 2023. But he is far from having drawn a line under his career. Free since his departure last summer from Bayern, where he only played 33 matches in four seasons, Bouna Sarr is still looking for a club ready to revive him. And he assures him, his physical problems and the numerous injuries which punctuated his stay in Munich are behind him.
“Many people would not be against a helping hand from Bouna Sarr today at OM”
“I am at 100% of my abilities and I will have no problem fitting into a group and making my contribution for this second part of the season. No matter the level, the challenge, the competition, I'm ready”, he said in an interview on Friday for Foot Mercato, ensuring that he had no “particular financial requirements”.
Convinced of still having a lot to offer, the winner of CAN 2021, who will be 33 years old next month, is therefore biding his time, accompanied by physical trainers between Dubai and Senegal. Open to a rebound in France, the player trained at FC Metz would not say no to a return to… Marseille, where he played between 2015 and 2020.
“There are many people who would not be against a helping hand from Bouna Sarr today at OM. Now, I am not the only decision-maker. It is the clubs, it is the sports directors, it is the coaches. There are a lot of parameters to take into account. There are also the needs of the clubs in relation to the positions. So, we are patient and we will adapt,” he explains.
On the Marseille side, the main rumor in the direction of arrivals concerns Paul Pogba, even if Medhi Benatia was very cautious on the subject in his exceptional interview for After Foot Thursday on RMC.
