Since his free arrival from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, Kylian Mbappé has received plenty of praise from Carlo Ancelotti. Always ready to defend his player despite the numerous criticisms he has received in recent weeks, the Italian has taken yet another step in his quest to defend the Frenchman. Yesterday, at a press conference, he simply considered the native of Bondy as the “best player in the world”: “As I said before: I understand the criticism. Real Madrid had just won the Champions League and La Liga then this summer, we recruited the best player in the world. So everyone thought it would be a cakewalk for us but football is about fighting in every game. You can’t control the results, sometimes you win, you lose. But the criticism starts from there, we come out of a fantastic season and the best player in the world has come. 1+1 = 2 so but football is not always 2” he said in comments reported by Real France.
Real recruited the “best player in the world” this summer!
But the sweet words did not stop there as the Madrid coach praised the versatility of his star: “Kylian is a fantastic player and, honestly, I don’t think he’s at his best yet. In the last few matches he has improved, but he is not yet at his best. He can play any position: striker, left winger… wherever you put him. With the quality he has, he can play wherever he wants” he continued. There is no doubt that the 2018 world champion will be keen to shine this evening in the final of the Intercontinental Club Cup in a stadium where he shone two years ago to the day, the Lusail Stadium.
