After his exploit with Botafogo, Portuguese coach Artur Jorge received three offers

According to his agent, Botafogo’s Portuguese coach Artur Jorge has received three offers following his recent success in the Copa Libertadores and the league.

In recent weeks, Artur Jorge has achieved a historic feat. Indeed, he became the first coach in history to win the prestigious Copa Libertadores with the Botafogo team. And as if that wasn’t enough, the Portuguese also won the Brazilian championship with the club based in Rio de Janeiro. A success which, of course, has not gone unnoticed.

Three offers for Artur Jorge

Through his sporting success in the ranks of Botafogo, Artur Jorge is one of the most sought-after coaches on the market. Currently under contract until December 2025, the Portuguese technician is of interest to several clubs, as his agent revealed to UOL Esporte in the last few hours. “We received a first offer in October and we communicated it to Botafogo. During the week of the Copa Libertadores final, Artur received three additional offers, from Mexico, Europe and Qatar.he said.

The offer mentioned in Qatar is, a priori, the one that is making the most noise in the press. For good reason, the interest shown by the Al-Rayyan club in Artur Jorge is more and more concrete, and the main interested party does not seem to be insensitive towards him, notably due to the financial opportunity it represents.

The door is open

While he recently returned to Portugal to recharge his batteries after a particularly busy year, Artur Jorge gave some ideas regarding his future at the start of the week. The Portuguese coach notably declared to journalists present at Porto airport that he was listening to the different offers, and that those from the Arab world were particularly “tempting from a financial point of view”.

In these conditions, the management of Botafogo could be led to lose the main architect of the improbable championship – continental cup double that the club recently achieved. Especially since the latter has a release clause estimated at only 2 million euros, which should not frighten certain clubs like Al-Rayyan, which have a relatively large financial base. “There was a meeting after the Libertadores, during which I explained that the three interested clubs were ready to pay the release clause. Owner John Textor’s response? So far, he hasn’t brought any.”said the agent.
