The tense match between LOSC and Olympique de Marseille left disciplinary traces for the Mastiffs. Benjamin Andrew will be suspended for the 32nd finals of the Coupe de France in Rouen after collecting his third yellow card of the season. But he is not the only one to be under threat of suspension.
André Gomes in the viewfinder
André Gomesthe Portuguese midfielder, also received a yellow card in the final minutes of the match in Marseille. With two warnings this season, André Gomes will therefore be suspended in the event of a new sanction in Rouen, next Friday, where his reprieve will end in the event of no warning. The Portuguese will have to show discipline to avoid joining Benjamin André on the suspended list.
A long list of players under threat
Besides André Gomes, several other LOSC executives are under threat of suspension after collecting two yellow cards this season. This is the case of Thomas Meunier, Jonathan David, Aïssa Mandi, Alexsandro and Matias Fernandez-Pardo. For the latter, the reprieve will extend until 2025, which means that they will have to remain disciplined over a long period to avoid suspension.
A heavy disciplinary record
In total, LOSC already has a suspended player for the next Coupe de France match, and six others threatened with suspension in the event of a new yellow card. A heavy disciplinary record which could weigh on the team's performance in the coming weeks. The coach Bruno Genesio will have to insist on discipline with its players to avoid further sanctions.
