AS Saint-Etienne experienced a chaotic weekend with the dismissal of Olivier Dall'Oglio. But things will accelerate and a first deadline has even already been set for the new coach.
The only good news for the Greens came from Le Havre, which by losing to Strasbourg allows ASSE to spend the end of year celebrations in a position of play-off and not relegation. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, things are going on in order to quickly complete the arrival of a new coach, Olivier Dall'Oglio having been sacked at dawn on Saturday, after another defeat in Toulouse. To replace him, three names have been circulating for a few hours, namely Wilfried Nancy, Zoumana Camara and a Norwegian coach, Eirik Horneland. the latter seems for the moment to hold the rope, having the advantage of now being free, which is not the case for Nancy, despite being the darling of the owners of AS Saint-Etienne. Anyway, everything should go very quickly, because Progress reveals that on the ASSE side, we have already scheduled the presentation of the new Saint-Etienne coach.
AS Saint-Etienne quickly wants to have a new coach
According to the regional daily, always very well informed about the Greens, Olivier Dall'Oglio's successor should be officially presented next Monday, December 23, the day after the Coupe de France match between AS Saint-Etienne and Marseille Olympic. At least that's what is said in the corridors of Etrat on this subject. To settle the Dall'Oglio case, the Saint-Etienne leaders will sign a check for 300,000 euros, i.e. his entire salary until the end of his contract, which ended in June 2025. The same will go for the deputy of ODO. A short, but important, page in the history of the Greens will turn, since Dall'Oglio will remain the one who brought Sainté back to Ligue 1 in one year. And the Saint-Etienne supporters do not forget it, aware as they are that the French technician has worked with a very limited workforce.
