PSG is going through a bad patch. In great difficulty in the Champions League, held to a draw at home by FC Nantes, Paris SG showed a major lack of offensive realism. A worrying situation which forces the Parisian board to ask itself questions in view of the winter transfer window.
Will PSG recruit a striker? If Luis Enrique made it clear that he was not in favor of recruiting a number 9, Nasser al-Khelaïfi and Luis Campos would not necessarily be of the same opinion. The idea would clearly be to part ways with Randal Kolo Muani and recruit a striker capable of stacking goals. A profile like Viktor Gyokeres that Luis Campos really likes.
But there you have it, this track has seriously taken a turn for the worse, and this for two reasons. The first is that Gyokeres is not considering a departure in January. The second is that a Premier League giant has apparently taken a big head start.
Manchester United has indeed started concrete discussions to recruit the Swedish striker from Sporting Portugal for next season. Under the direction of Ruben Amorim, the Red Devils hope to get ahead of the strong competition in this very big issue.
Gyokeres, who delivered a monstrous 2023-2024 season with 43 goals and 15 assists, continues to impress this season with already 24 goals in 21 games, making him one of the most prolific strikers in Europe. Exceptional performances which inevitably attracted the attention of several major European clubs such as PSG and Chelsea. But it is Manchester United who seem to be the most determined to recruit him.
Sébastien Vidal, a journalist very familiar with Premier League news, revealed that discussions are already well advanced and that the Red Devils are ready to bring out the heavy artillery to secure the services of Gyökeres.
With an attack that is often criticized, Gyokeres could be the perfect solution for Manchester United and especially Ruben Amorim who knows the Swedish striker very well, and who will therefore be able to put him in the best conditions.
