Carlos Soler (27) did not have the expected success at PSG and went through his two seasons in the capital without winning. Loaned without a purchase option for the current financial year to West Ham, the Spanish international is just starting to make his mark under the leadership of Julen Lopetegui. And this is just the beginning as he promised Hammers supporters.
Not really essential in the eyes of Luis Enrique last season in his preferred position in midfield, Carlos Soler was somewhat chased away by the PSG coach and the leaders of the capital club. Its ready to West Hamof one season and without purchase option, is starting to go well. And after his full match against Newcastle Monday evening (2-0), the Spanish international is far from satisfied.
“When you know the coach believes in you, you go on the field thinking it’s your time”
In interview for The Daily Mirror, Carlos Soler promises heavy things to the supporters of Hammers thanks in particular to the confidence placed in him by his trainer Julen Lopetegui.
“With continuity, by playing a lot of matches, I will be better and I have great confidence in myself. I know I have to show it in every training session and during matches. But as a player, when you know the coach believes in you, you go on the field thinking this is your moment.”
“I played for Valencia, PSG and the national team. I know the player I am”
To conclude his first interview of the season with an English media, Carlos Soler knows from his background that he will bring a real plus to West Ham.
“You then have to show what you are as a footballer. I played for Valencia, PSG and the national team. I know the player I am. With the confidence of my teammates and my coach, I know I will be better, that’s for sure.”
