PSG, Xavi Simons released this winter?

Loaned by PSG, Xavi Simons could leave the capital club permanently this winter.

The winter transfer window promises to be eventful at Saint-Germain. In terms of departures and arrivals, things should move a little in the French capital in January. It will also be the time for PSG to manage the situation of certain players on loan, like Xavi Simons. The latter also seems to be heading towards a departure from the Ile-de- club in the coming weeks.

Leipzig no longer wants to release Xavi Simons to PSG

The last summer transfer window in the French capital was not breathtaking enough with only four recruits (Safonov, Pacho, Neves, Doué). But PSG was very active in terms of departures by releasing several players. Keylor Navas, Layvin Kurzawa, Manuel Ugarte, Cher Ndour, Colin Dagba, Renato Sanches, Danilo Pereira, Alexandre Letellier, Sergio Rico and even Xavi Simons have all left the Ile-de-France club. The situation of the last city is however special since PSG did not want to sell it. But Xavi Simons preferred to continue his progress in the jersey of RB Leipzig in Germany.

Paris Saint-Germain therefore agreed to loan the Dutch international to the Red Bull franchise for the second season in a row. If he is not missing from the Parisian club, Xavi Simons is flourishing with Leipzig with his 3 goals and 2 assists in 11 Bundesliga matches. A great deal for the German club which no longer wants to let go of the player. According to information from Bild, German leaders would like to permanently enlist the former PSV Eindhoven player this winter. However, the file promises to be complicated for RB Leipzig who cannot match the 80 million euros demanded by PSG for the 21-year-old attacking midfielder. The German media indicates the two parties should relaunch negotiations in the coming weeks, but that the chances of seeing PSG retain Xavi Simons are slim.
