On Twitch, the captain of the Girondins de Bordeaux,
Cédric Yambéréspoke about several things concerning the Bordeaux season, starting with the journeys to away matches, which are now done by bus, for long hours.
“The bus returns, yeah… it reminds us of ten or eleven years ago when we were in reserve. It's a little hard. When I was in the Faroe Islands, the maximum was an hour's journey. There, we traveled seven hours, fourteen hours round trip to Saint-Malo. We played them in reserve when I was at the Girondins. It seems to me that we had a draw too.”
Then, he talked about the team's physical condition, not far from being 100%.
“Physically, we are good. Honestly, physically. We worked well so physically we finished better than the other teams. It shows. Even when we weren't necessarily physically fresh, we saw that there were good leftovers. Afterwards, most of the players have known or been around the professional world. They are serious players, who work well. We work well, and it pays off.”
The group
“Everyone has a great mentality. We know the objective. For that side, there is nothing to say, whether in training or in matches. We give everything on the pitch, and it shows. There are no cheaters on this team. I knew several groups, several countries, several clubs, I traveled (laughs). But there are no cheaters there. This team, these young people, with this staff… it will pay off. There are no cheaters, I insist. It works, it’s serious, and yet it’s more or less a group of young people.”
