The Girondins de Bordeaux will play their eighth round of the French Cup against Les Herbiers at the Sainte-Germaine du Bouscat stadium… behind closed doors!
The Girondins de Bordeaux have once again shown that they don't care about Football. In order to save money, the club refused to organize the eighth round of the French Cup match against Vendée Les Herbiers Football at Matmut Atlantique.
“After various meetings between the two clubs, the French Football Federation and the Gironde Prefecture, the latter validated the match without spectators, despite all the efforts of the VHF so that our supporters could attend the meeting” regrets the Vendée club on its website.
The match was to be played at the Paul-Bernard stadium in Talence. But according to Sud-Ouest, the Prefecture considered that the enclosure was not secure enough for a closed session. It was therefore the Sainte-Germain du Bouscat stadium which was chosen.

“Les Herbiers took 40,000 people to the Stade de France, and the Gironde prefecture is not capable of controlling two kops of the Girondins de Bordeauxdeplores Dominique Vincendeau, the president of Herbiers. For me, this is a complete misunderstanding. »
The problem is that the French Football Federation is still allowing this to happen without flinching… as if it wanted to get rid of the Girondins de Bordeaux problem with these closed doors that it prohibits to other clubs.
