The Girondins de will play their eighth round of the French Cup against Les Herbiers at the Sainte-Germaine du Bouscat stadium… behind closed doors!

The Girondins de Bordeaux have once again shown that they don't care about . In order to save money, the club refused to organize the eighth round of the French Cup match against Vendée Les Herbiers Football at Matmut Atlantique.

“After various meetings between the two clubs, the French Football Federation and the Prefecture, the latter validated the match without spectators, despite all the efforts of the VHF so that our supporters could attend the meeting” regrets the Vendée club on its website.

The match was to be played at the Paul-Bernard stadium in . But according to Sud-Ouest, the Prefecture considered that the enclosure was not secure enough for a closed session. It was therefore the Sainte-Germain du Bouscat stadium which was chosen.
