The Musée des Verts in Saint-Étienne is dedicating its new temporary exhibition to Philippe Masseguin, official photographer of ASSE from 1999 to 2017, who died five years ago. Through « In Philippe's eye »an intimate and captivating retrospective, visitors will delve into the heart of nearly twenty years of notable moments of the legendary Saint-Etienne club. From the magic of the hundredth derby won on the pitch at Gerland to the intensity and coldness of an ASSE – Olympique de contested under the snow of Forez, this collection of around sixty photos resurrects the highlights of the legendary story green.

The story of a club like no other

Beyond sporting exploits, the exhibition also reveals more discreet scenes, imbued with humanity and closeness: exchanged glances, locker room life or suspended moments between players and supporters. This exhibition, which begins this Saturday, November 30 and will run until August 31, 2025, offers much more than a simple trip into the past. It is a window into the soul of a club like no other, which has captivated generations. Philippe Masseguin, through his talent, was able to capture raw emotions, moments of intimacy and communion which make ASSE unique. Whether you are passionate about football or curious to discover the history of a legendary club through the eyes of an artist, this unique experience promises you a rich range of emotions, between nostalgia and wonder.
