A study presented by LFP Media, the commercial company of the Professional League, highlights high figures for piracy of Ligue 1.

Worrying figures for French football. During a presentation to the Audiovisual and Digital Communication Regulatory Authority (Arcom), the results of a study on Ligue 1 piracy were revealed. The investigation was carried out between the end of October and the beginning of November and commissioned by LFP Media, the commercial company of the Professional Football League, reports L'Equipe.

According to this study, 37% of Ligue 1 viewers used an illegal method to watch matches. Among them, 27% have started pirating this season, marked by the arrival of DAZN with subscriptions at highly contested prices. Another figure: 55% of the audience for the OM-PSG match in October (0-3) comes from illegal streams.

The DAZN subscription still on sale

DAZN, looking for subscribers after a difficult start, has launched a new promotion on its main subscription. After a series of first discounts, the platform came up with an offer of 14.99 euros (with 12-month commitment) as part of Black Friday. A price far removed from that initially offered, at 29.99 euros.

Recently, the boss of DAZN said he had a “big relationship” with Arcom for the fight against piracy. “It’s the entire creative industry that is concerned, it’s not just a DAZN subject,” said Brice Daumin, quoted by AFP.

At the end of a long series, DAZN acquired at the beginning of July the broadcast rights to eight L1 matches per day for an average of 400 million euros per year, with beIN Sports broadcasting a match for 100 million euros. annual euros.
