The words of Téji Savanier, following the defeat in Saint-Étienne, provoked the ire of a good number of supporters, on the networks and here even. However, his words found echoes, whether in the national press or even in adverse reactions. But in the Pailladin microcosm, plunged into gloom for long weeks which become months, optimism has little room.
So, did the Pailladins provide a “very, very good match” in Saint-Étienne, as the Hérault captain proclaimed after the match? Certainly not. Concerned, diligent, but terribly clumsy, Jean-Louis Gasset's men paid cash for Rabby Nzingoula's missed clearance, just after returning from the locker room. The MHSC then dominated the match, just as it dominated the first act during which Arnaud Nordin came up against Gautier Larsonneur and Téji Savanier did not see Yunis Abdelhamid coming back from… Out of nowhere, in fact.
A few more chances, not enough of course, but never or almost the impression that the greens could make the break. The Pailladins channeled their evening opponent, held the ball and created the clearest opportunities, without being able to convert them. And it is on this point that Téji Savanier pressed the microphone of DAZN at the end of the meeting. La Paillade dominated, but without a real scorer, she was never able to find the breach to equalize, if not better.
But Téji Savanier and his colleagues no longer have an obligation of means in Ligue 1. Stuck in last place in the championship, the orange and blue are now subject to an obligation of result and this defeat in Forez, against an opponent directly in the race to maintain, falls badly in the Pailladin context. They may have had a coherent match, but they lost, and being positive becomes inaudible with 7 small points in the bag after 12 contested days. Coué method or not, the MHSC must win, no matter how. The urgency is accounting and not tactical and if consistency in the game should, in theory, allow better results to be achieved, on Saturday evening, La Paillade lost.
