After a stunning group stage which notably saw the French team snatch first place in its group against Italy, the League of Nations is now entering its direct elimination phase. Big news compared to previous editions, we now have the right to quarter-finals. The draw for these will take place today at 12 p.m. from UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. A draw that you can follow live on the website of the European body.
A draw to follow from 12 p.m.!
This will take place in a very simple manner with the runners-up in the group who will be distributed in pot 2 and the first in pot 1. The teams from pot 2 will be drawn first then those from pot 1. Important revelation, the countries who faced each other in the group stage will not be able to meet in the quarter-finals. For example, France will not face Italy. Very logically, the first in the group have the advantage of receiving in the return match.
The potential semi-finals will also be known. The first two balls drawn will have the opportunity to receive during these meetings. As a reminder, the quarter-finals will take place on March 20 (first leg) and 23 (return), the semi-finals on June 4 and 5 while the match for third place and the final will take place on Sunday June 8.
