OM: Balerdi turned the Argentinians around, De Zerbi is choosy

Leonardo Balerdi started last night during Argentina-Peru (1-0) and he had a very good match. The OM coach would not be satisfied with his team's play, even in victory.

We had left Leonardo Balerdi with low morale. Already torpedoed by his very difficult start to the season with OM, the central defender experienced a nightmare with Argentina, last Thursday in Paraguay (1-2). Coming into play at the break, he conceded a free kick for an avoidable foul on his first ball… which resulted in the second Paraguayan goal due to poor positioning on his part! We can imagine how difficult the days that followed must have been for him. But his coach, Lionel Scaloni, gave him another chance last night, at home against Peru and in a Bombonera that he knows well having trained at Boca Juniors.

De Zerbi not satisfied with the level of play, even in victory

The Albiceleste won 1-0 with a marvelous goal from Lautaro Martinez, after a good serve from Lionel Messi. But Leonardo Balerdi's performance in central defense was highlighted by all the Argentine media. The Marseillais was replaced at the end of the match, to the applause of the Bombonera, by the Lensois Facundo Medina, whom he will meet again on Saturday at Bollaert.

On the sidelines of this, La Provence confirms that Roberto De Zerbi is not satisfied with the level of play of his team, even during the victories since the start of the season! Thus, after the 5-0 in , he found fault with the fact that his men had left opportunities to the very weak Héraultais. But the most worrying thing in the article in the regional daily is that the technician does not understand why there is such a difference between services at home and outside OM. And if he doesn't understand, he's not likely to find the solution…
