With the departure of Kylian Mbappé last summer, Victor Osimhen was in the sights of Paris Saint-Germain. But the club from the French capital, which had reached an agreement with the Nigerian striker from Naples, came up against the inflexibility of the Italian club and its president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
Osimhen cost €130m last summer.
The latter did not want to let go of his star at all. Well, yes, but only if his release clause, set at 130 million euros, was lifted. But this amount was considered too high by PSG and other interested major clubs.
At the end of the summer transfer window in Europe, Victor Osimhen finally left Naples to join Turkish club Galatasaray on loan for the entire season. Performing and happy in Türkiye, he wants to at least finish the season there.
Victor Osimhen is happy in Türkiye but…
“I’m happy here. I saw how the club is a big family. I am happy with this choice and I do not intend to move before June. I will stay here until the end of the season,” announced the former LOSC striker.
On the other hand, even if Galatasaray wishes to keep him, it seems difficult to see Osimhen committing definitively to the Turkish club. According to information from Florian Plettenberg, the management of the Istanbul club knows that it will be very difficult to keep the Nigerian striker after June 30, 2025.
Osimhen will be available next summer for €75 million
Victor Osimhen should return to Naples next summer but should not stay there. Indeed, Gazzetta dello Sport announces that the 2023 African Ballon d'Or will have a release clause of 75 million euros next summer.
At this amount, the big European clubs will surely be more interested and should have no trouble raising it. Will PSG be one of these clubs when the need for a scorer is sorely felt at the start of the season? The answer would be rather positive today.
PSG begins to rethink Victor Osimhen
“PSG is thinking about next season. He begins to think back to Osimhen,” underlined the journalist Emanuele Cammaroto in an interview given to Napoli Magazine Live on Radio Punto Zero.
A new Osimhen series is therefore taking shape for next summer on the PSG side. Unless the capital club manages to complete a reinforcement at the forefront this winter or another track, like the one leading to Viktor Gyökeres for example, is favored by the Parisian management.
Passionate about sport and from Toulouse, I am of course a supporter of the great TFC, which has more titles than OM and OL combined over the last ten years.
