Ligue 1 clubs pass round after round before the DNCG. The financial policeman of French football has work to do after the summer transfer window and before the winter transfer window. In fact, he decided to heavily sanction Olympique Lyonnais last Friday.
OL and HAC sanctioned last week
The Rhone club suffered a demotion to Ligue 2 as a precautionary measure as well as a payroll control and a recruitment ban this winter. The same day, Le Havre was also sanctioned.
Due to a deficit of slightly more than 10 million euros, the HAC has had its payroll regulated as well as a “ban on recruiting for payment” for this winter. Note that these DNCG sanctions may not be the only ones against Ligue 1 clubs.
Journalist Romain Molina, in the Youtube video below (starting at 9:55), returned to the other French elite clubs which have not yet gone before the financial policeman and which could be sanctioned. He first mentioned the situation in Montpellier.
“If Lyon had a sanction, Montpellier be careful”
“If Lyon had a sanction, Montpellier be careful. Will continuity be possible, given the losses announced?” asks the French investigative journalist.
Currently last in Ligue 1 and after spending €0 this summer, the MHSC may therefore not be able to strengthen this winter or be forced to sell. In the latter case, a departure of Becir Omeragic could notably occur.
“Either Joseph Oughourlian gets his hands dirty, or…”
Romain Molina continues and announces: “The losses of all the clubs are dramatic and it will be carnage this winter”. He then continued with the situation at RC Lens.
“The owner announced that he was going to sell for 111 million euros, he will have a colossal hole this year, which he will estimate in tens of millions. At some point, we will have to cover it. Or Joseph Oughourlian get your hands dirty, or there will be a sanction for Lens as well,” assures the journalist.
Ligue 2 also concerned
In this video, Romain Molina also discusses the situations of Ligue 2 clubs.
Thus, in addition to Martigues, which was sanctioned last Friday with a recruitment ban and a precautionary demotion in National, AC Ajaccio and Laval could be sanctioned when they appear before the DNCG in the coming days.
Passionate about sport and from Toulouse, I am of course a supporter of the great TFC, which has more titles than OM and OL combined over the last ten years.
