Arriving in July 2023 in Montpellier from Zurich, Becir Omeragic quickly established himself as a leader in the Hérault defense. The 22-year-old Swiss played 28 Ligue 1 matches last season.
If he has only played 6 at the start of the season, it is mainly because of injuries. He notably suffered a bruised knee at the beginning of October and is currently in the infirmary due to an ischio injury which sidelined him at the end of October.
Becir Omeragic did not want to leave MHSC this summer
With good market value and performing well last season with the MHSC, Becir Omeragic was in some rumors of departure last summer. But he ultimately did not want to leave Hérault only a year after his arrival.
“Leaving this summer would have been too soon. I heard some things. But that wasn't my goal. I had already had this unfortunate experience in Zurich. I had to leave, I couldn't stop thinking about it. And I got hurt. So everything was very clear. I wanted to stay here. This is the perfect place to learn and continue”he explained recently in an interview with Midi Libre.
MHSC: change of agency for Becir Omeragic
With the difficult situation of Montpellier, which is last in Ligue 1, and the club's financial difficulties, will the Swiss international leave this winter? Nothing is certain today, but Omeragic has just made a decision which brings him closer to a transfer.
Indeed, Becir Omeragic announced in an Instagram story that he was changing agencies to represent him. Previously represented by his family, the 22-year-old central defender chose to join the Excensy agency.
