The captain of FC Bressuire, Valentin Pointufor Ouest-France, spoke about the upcoming match against the Girondins de Bordeaux, counting for the 7th round of the Coupe de France. The 28-year-old defender first mentioned the draw.
“It’s a very good draw because the Girondins, for me, are the in-between: a great historic club which remains within our reach because there are only two levels of difference. We have every chance, so we will work for three weeks to create the feat. Even if it’s the Girondins, I don’t plan to watch them play.”
If today the Girondins de Bordeaux are playing in National 2, it is still a prestigious match for this player who plays in a team from Nouvelle Aquitaine.
“Even if there is one level lower, I think that the Girondins remain a very good team. There are some good little players that we faced with Bressuire when we were in N3: former players from Libourne, Stade Bordeaux, Lège… These are names that we know, and it doesn't matter who will be aligned, you will have to be up to it. But now that we have the experience of last year of this type of match, I have no fear because we know how to prepare for them.”
