Barça would like to recruit Khvicha Kvaratskhelia next summer, according to Italian media La Repubblica. Two years from the end of his contract, the Georgian could be sold by Naples for around 80 million euros. The player would see himself well at Barcelona, with the possibility of winning titles quickly.
Even if everything is going well at FC Barcelona, especially since the arrival of Hansi Flick this summer, the club is preparing for the future. Lamine Yamal and Raphinha are currently making the Catalans happy, but Barça would like to sign an additional winger. With a clearly established priority track, according to the Italian daily La Repubblica: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
At 23, the Georgian is currently living his third season in Naples. He knows that his future could be written elsewhere, in an even more prestigious club, and he would not be indifferent to Barça's interest. It is also by leaving that he could claim a higher salary, while he currently receives “only” 1.5 million euros per year.
Napoli asked for 130 million euros last summer
According to La Repubblica, such a transfer could be negotiated around 80 million euros. A price significantly lower than the 130 million euros demanded by the Neapolitan president, Aurelio de Laurentiis, when Paris Saint-Germain inquired last summer. But the end of Kvaratskhelia's contract, in June 2027, mathematically causes his value to decrease as the seasons go by.
The Catalans, however, know that the negotiations promise to be difficult, because the player is coveted and because De Laurentiis has a reputation for being tough in business. If the Georgian's track cools down, Barça is studying other options, including that leading to Rafael Leão, another Serie A player. It is a certainty, however: Barça now has its eyes on the biggest talents of the continent.
