Holder of a Master's degree in international law, I realized at the end of my university career that it was important to evolve in a field that you appreciate. Overnight, I decided to put an end to my parents' dream, who saw in me a future lawyer, to make a living from my passion: sport. Since then, I have covered transfer windows and sports news, trying to keep readers informed as best as possible.
A simple statement out of anger? Whatever the case, Roberto de Zerbi's statements after the defeat against AJ Auxerre are surprising (1-3). Furious, he opened the door to leaving in the near future. OM Ambassador, Basile Boli spoke about the future of the Italian technician.
Roberto de Zerbi is a man who doesn't take things lightly. Endowed with a strong character, the Italian technician expressed his fed up with his team's performance againstALSO Auxerre. The OM coach even opened the door to a departure. “ If I'm the problem, I'm leaving.” he blurted. But ambassador of the Marseille club, Basil Boli wanted to play down the situation.
A disappointment against Auxerre
“We have ups and downs but the club has launched a new cycle. It's a renewal. We must therefore expect difficult times and exceptional times. It’s part of the life of any top athlete. The defeat against Auxerre? At Olympique de Marseille, as elsewhere, there is no defeat that pleases. So, obviously, this is one of the disappointments” confided the Marseille legend.
OM responds for its future
Asked about the future of De Zerbi, Boli evokes a sudden burst of anger. “ If the club maintains its confidence in him? That is not for me to say. When there is disappointment after a lost match, we say hot things. There is emotion. But everything will return to normal after the international break” he blurted. Sports advisor Pablo Longoria, Mehdi Benatia responded on behalf of the club: “ For us, there is no discussion, he is the man for the job. He’s a golden guy.”
