Like every week, the Sainté Night Club has arranged to meet you this Monday evening. The opportunity to return to the derby contested on Sunday by ASSE. Excerpts.

Greens too green

Antoine Chirat (Onze Mondial) after OL – ASSE : “They were a little too kind, even at the end of the match, in the last minutes when, trailing 1-0, they had little to lose. After this disallowed goal which kept them in the match, normally, they should have thrown all their strength into the battle. And we didn't see that. We did not see aggressive players in certain phases of the game, even when the Lyonnais started to gain time. They didn't chamber, but these are moments of play which, normally, should bring out your frustration when you are a player. However, I did not feel this frustration from them, and that is what disappointed me.

In a match like this, with everything we saw last week – the training at Étrat, the departure of the bus, the speeches of the supporters, everything that was put in place – we cannot didn't find him enough on the ground. We saw courageous players, who had a good match, committed and generous, but not in excess of their function. Very few have really tried to add something more. Few showed irritation, tried to influence the referee or destabilize the opponents. And, unfortunately, in a derby, especially when we're supposed to be the slightly inferior team on paper, we have to go through that. We didn't know how to do it, and even the Lyonnais didn't need that to win.

There wasn't even any special chambering. I expected things to degenerate a bit at the end of the match: we were behind, we didn't have many chances, we saw that we couldn't do it… That's often what arrives in derbies. Many players still lack this identity, the habit of playing derbies, losing or doing everything to win them. This took away a little flavor from the end of the match where we hoped to thrill, to see something happen. But ultimately, apart from Moueffek's strike and this ball cleared almost against his camp by Tagliafico, nothing happens in the last ten minutes.

It's this frustration that sticks in my throat. I hope that in the return match, with Geoffroy-Guichard's atmosphere, it will not be the same. Because in a derby, when you can't win it, you have to show that you did everything to win. And yesterday, I didn't have the impression that they gave everything until the end to get at least this draw, even if it meant losing 2-0.”

The attitude of ASSE and ODO singled out

Joss Randall aorsè OL – ASSE : When you look at Dal'Oglio's attitude in the post-match conference, the smiles… I wonder how they were prepared for that. Maybe ODO could have instilled this flame in them, but these are young people who don't really know that. They perhaps did not understand the issue as we would have liked. It probably lacked aggressiveness, even if, in the intensity and the duels won, we saw that they were present. But we would probably all have liked a little more.

ODO is in a very special situation. I find that he neutralized the event before the meeting. And after the match, this displayed satisfaction, saying that we had a good match, the remarks to the Team on the positive points… All these smiles were perhaps not very appropriate. This perhaps says a lot about the atmosphere in which the players approached this match on the ASSE side.”
