The tops
An inspired Bakker – Fernandez duo
Since the start of the season, there have been few times when the left side has been more dangerous than the right side, where Edon Zhegrova is based. But during this match, left winger Matias Fernandez proved untenable thanks to his speed and explosiveness, facing a completely overwhelmed Nice defense. The 19-year-old striker also scored with a powerful strike (17'), deceiving Bulka at his near post.
Positioned on the left side, Mitchel Bakker also accompanied the rises of number 19, showing himself to be solid defensively but also by not hesitating to overrun, thus creating space. He even turned into a scorer in the 67th minute, with a shot under the bar. An essential offensive contribution which allowed LOSC to be very dangerous. The positioning of Jonathan Clauss, very high on the pitch, also allowed the Dutchman and Fernandez to find themselves in superiority against an overwhelmed Youssouf Ndayishimiye.
The flops
LOSC gives the stick to equalize
The sad end of the match and the Nice equalizer still raise questions about the concentration of the Mastiffs, who seem far too passive at certain moments. As in most matches, Lille had a very good first period, but, like against Juventus or against Lyon, the second half was of less quality, leaving the ball to a more incisive Nice team. and sharper. This will inevitably lead to the equalizer by Sofiane Diop (1-1, 56'), and despite Bakker's goal (66', 2-1), a new equalizer for the Aiglons by Tom Louchet on a free kick following an avoidable foul from Angel Gomes (90+6', 2-2) will end the match. An accumulation of errors which forced LOSC to take only one point from the Azuréens.
