“We have positive leaders in the squad,” confides Bruno Genesio before OGC Nice – LOSC

Nine consecutive matches without a setback despite the injuries, this good series is not trivial for Bruno Genesio, who highlighted the strengths of his group this Friday, at a press conference.

LOSC has been making strides for many weeks despite the storms. “Headwinds” is an expression that Bruno Genesio has been repeating for several months. This includes the relocation of the first matches of the season, the change of pitch, the schedules which sometimes leave us wondering as well as the numerous injuries that we have to deal with. However, the team is one of the French clubs which has had the best start to the season, both in the league and on the European scene. This can be explained by different factors, such as the strength of a collective: “I have had the chance, I think in my coaching career, to have known a lot of groups with a very great state of mind. But It's true that it has been facing a lot of headwinds since the start of the season and the month of August. Coping is one thing, but coping and continuing to perform is another. This is what we have been able to do for some time now.”welcomes the Lille technician.

The latter continues: “I think it’s because we work, that we have very positive leaders on this team. They always convey the opportunities to be seized rather than lamenting our fate. Of course when you have positive results, it helps to overcome all that and to have that state of mind. It's also a challenge, goals that we set for ourselves match after match, to not give up and give everything. That’s what we do and that’s also why we managed to get through this period with good results and without too many difficulties”underlines Bruno Genesio who raises an important point: LEADERSHIP.

“We also try to put things into perspective, […] to challenge oneself »

Who are the leaders of the LOSC workforce?
“First there is our captain (Benjamin André), who always instills a winning spirit and the fact of never giving up. There are also other players who we perhaps talk about a little less, but who are there. There is Lucas (Chevalier) in goal, of course. He has a strong personality for that too. There is Bafo' (Diakité), Aïssa Mandi also conveys a lot of positive things, especially for the youngest. Jonathan (David) is also someone who is very positive in his attitude and in his behavior in training”quotes the LOSC coach.

“It all affects everyonesays Bruno Genesio, who obviously mentions his importance and that of the collective around him. In the staff, we also sometimes try to put things into perspective and say to ourselves that, ultimately, everything that happens to us is an opportunity for those who play less to show themselves and prove that this group is strong, that we are capable of resisting despite the difficulties , or even better. It's a bit of a challenge that we set ourselves like that, with each other and towards each other to be a difficult team to play against.”the Lille technician explained to us at a press conference this Friday, two days before a perilous trip to .
